RIP Jimmy Lanza, Ladder 43

Jimmy Lanza was a great friend to the Waterfront Warriors, always warmly welcoming our guests and their families. Below is the tribute from the FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums:

Sad news from the FDNY Emerald Society Pipes and Drums:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James (Jimmy) Lanza, Retired from Ladder 43.

Jimmy was appointed to the FDNY on 01/13/1979 and while he started his career at Engine 14, he spent most of his career with Engine 53 and Ladder 43, El Barrio’s Bravest in Harlem.

After his retirement, Jimmy remained involved in many organizations and with us. He would almost never be missing from an event, volunteering countless number of hours to help out.

Jimmy was a great friend and will be truly missed by the brotherhood. We love you Jimmy, rest in peace, until we meet again.
